KITCHEN TABLE ART WORKSHOP

 WORK SPACE:

Set up a work area that includes a smooth, flat, hard non-porous surface. I use a piece of glass or plexiglass on top of my kitchen counter or table. You can also use a baking tray or Teflon baking sheet.

Set up an additional flat space to put your prints to dry – generally they dry quickly – a cookie rack is good.

You might want access to water for clean up, a kitchen sink is good.

I am already excited about 2020 since I am planning some new workshops and will be offering some favorite ones again. Check out the descriptions below  and then give your input – I would love to hear what you think about them.

• Making Marks in Cold Wax and Oil: we will paint with the unique medium of cold wax. Painting with cold wax is expressive and experimental. Previous experience in painting is not necessary.

• Small Books: we will explore hand crafted book making and create our own small slot book. This is not a book-binding workshop, but a fun exploration of folding paper into books that are held together in unique ways.

• A Pocket Pocket Book: we will turn paper tubes into unique . . .

Fluid Painting  Acrylic Pour Guide

Below are materials we used in the workshop and that will help you get set up to pour at home.

Workspace

Best to set up two areas: one to mix paint and one to pour. I use a combination of newspaper, trash bags as table cloths, and trays to protect both areas.

Trays – many people have asked where I got the workspace materials that we used in class. We used large Genpac foam meat trays and aluminum half sheet cake pans. I purchase the foam trays by the case from restaurant supply stores, you may never use up a case so I suggest you ask a butcher for one.  I get the sheet pans at Ocean State Job Lot (I have found they cost less there
